The lakes, with a backdrop of forested ridgelines, offer visitors a scenic and relaxed setting in which to enjoy fishing, hunting, picnicking, hiking, camping and other outdoor activities.

Seven South Plantation offers the finest quail hunting experience in South Georgia. With 1,300 acres of diverse wildlife habitat, comfortable lodging, knowledgeable guides and some of the best cookin’ around, Seven South is sure to provide you with an unforgettable experience.

Springbank Plantation at Barnsley Gardens Resort is home to one of the Southeast’s premier Sporting Clays facilities. The 12 station sporting clays course is on the 1500 acre resort less than 5 miles from the hunting preserve. The course boasts a diverse layout of shots in open field, in the woods, and shots over two reclaimed bauxite mine ponds.

Silver Shoe Ranch is a quail hunting preserve in southern Whitfield County extending into northern Gordon County. Our fast-flying birds, great bird dogs, and courteous professional guides make for a great wing shooting experience for the seasoned quail hunter as well as the first timer.

The 3,000-acre WMA harbors white-tailed deer, wild turkey, squirrel, rabbit, dove, duck and raccoon. Hiking is permitted during the hunting off-season.

Standing Boy Trails is located in the northern portion of the City of Columbus. This 1,580-acre property lies on the shore of Lake Oliver and offers excellent opportunity for hiking, running, biking, and wildlife viewing. It is managed by The City of Columbus via Standing Boy, Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Quota hunts are held during the fall and spring. All quota hunts are archery (the trails remain open) except for a youth turkey hunt in the spring. The trail system may close after heavy rains. A parking pass is required, and a State Parks pass is not valid. Stoddard’s offers an indoor, state-of-the-art shooting range with 12, 75-foot, fully rifle-rated lanes, each with programmable touch-screen target systems.

On the southeastern coast of Georgia, Sea Island features five miles of private beach, a Beach Club, tennis and squash centers, Yacht Club, Shooting School, and Camp Cloister. Sea Island is also steeped in golf tradition.

Tussock Bay is where adventure meets the outdoors. Guided deer, quail, and turkey hunts are available on this family-owned preserve. The woods are beautiful, the hunting extraordinary and the experience, especially hunting with first-class dogs, is unparalleled.

West Point Lake is a man-made reservoir impounded by the West Point Dam, a dam built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Chattahoochee River. The reservoir extends for about 35 mi along the Chattahoochee River near the Alabama-Georgia state boundary.

This 10,000 acre wildlife management area is open to hunting, fishing, hiking and birding. Shooting range available.
