Rent a Zagster bike for up to three hours for free to explore the Big Creek Greenway. This 8-mile and 12-foot-wide paved path allows for biking, walking, roller blading, and inline skating along creek. Birds and mammals, flora and fauna, can be seen from the trail. Access points are at the YMCA at Preston Ridge Road, or North Point Parkway or Haynes Bridge Road. Between the YMCA and Webb Bridge Road on the Greenway, test your mettle on the 1.3-miles Mt. Adams Mountain Biking Trail.

Four Alpharetta parks have tree arboretums that showcase the beauty of native trees. Walking trails at Brook Street Park, Cogburn Road Park, Willis Park and Webb Bridge Park allow you to enjoy such trees as Southern magnolias, water oaks, dogwood, and pecan trees, among others.

Release your inner daredevil during one of the internationally recognized rider training classes at the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, dedicated to expanding rider education and motorcycle safety. You’ll find bikers taking basic training classes, youngsters learning to maneuver ATVs, groups team building and families learning the elements of dirt bike riding.

Golfers will never want to leave Alpharetta. Ten golf courses offer a variety of layouts to challenge golfers of any skill level. There is also an indoor golfing facility that combines the competition of sport with your favorite local hangout spot.

The city features two self-guided walking tours: Downtown Alpharetta Arts Walking Tour & Alpharetta History Walk. The redevelopment of Alpharetta’s downtown has spawned a growing public arts program. The Downtown Alpharetta Arts Walking Tour will take you to a growing collection of public sculpture pieces displayed in outdoor settings ranging from the public library to various Alpharetta parks.
