The majority of Gilmer County’s apple houses are along this stretch, thus the name ‘Apple Alley’– allowing you to visit several houses, each with their own signature treat.

This hike courses through a rich valley along Bear Creek and visits the Gennett Poplar, a giant tulip poplar tree. Bear Creek is popular for both hiking and mountain biking.

68 campsites, 39 sites have electrical and water hookups, four of the electric and water sites also have sewer, the remaining 26 sites are tent only.

Members may practice daily at the arena. On Thursdays, members gather to ride horses, mules and wagons. The club hosts an annual rodeo in September.

Plum Nelly is a family-owned campground nestled in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. We offer easy access from Hwy. 515, pull-thru sites, 30-50 amp electrical service and sewer hookups at every site.

This trail system is in Ridgeway Recreation Area at Carters Lake. The main trail is a six-mile loop, with several short spur trails that allow for longer rides. Trail is a mixture of single track, narrow logging roads, challenging climbs, stream crossings and technical downhills.

18 primitive campsites with pit toilets, boat ramp, and dock. Accessible by dirt road only.

This family orchard and apple house operates daily, August-December, offering apples, fresh produce, jams, jellies, relishes, apple cider, boiled peanuts, pies, fritters and other baked goods, bird houses and feeders, and other crafts.

Open every Saturday morning from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the farmer’s market is a great place to visit and pick up the freshest vegetables from the garden, baked goods, native plants and local crafts.

Hillcrest Orchards offers loads of fun for kids, adults and seniors. Pick your own apples, milk a cow, watch live pig races, visit the petting farm, take a wagon ride through the orchard, visit the Moonshine Museum and watch live bands and cloggers on the Hillcrest Stage.

A working dairy farm, Mountain Valley Farms also sells grassfed beef and grainfed pork. Open Fri.-Sun., the Farm Store offers various meat cuts, unpasteurized milk for pets, and knowledge of where your food comes from.

Panorama Orchards is a family fruit farm established in the 1920s to produce and market apples. Today we have available more than 20 varieties of apples, as well as peaches, and fall vegetables. Open year round.

Orchard/apple market. Open August-December. Jellies, old fashion candy, fudge, peaches, pumpkins, ciders. Samples! Fresh bakery.

R&A Orchards has approximately 60 acres of apple trees and 10 acres of peaches and nectarines. Peach picking begins around June 1, apple picking around Aug. 1-Dec. 1, and vegetables picked through frost.

U-pick apples (seasonal), October pumpkin patch. You can play cornhole, horse shoes, have a picnic, pick flowers and take a walk in the hayfield. Come out and enjoy the farm and have a great time!
