Local produce and fresh hot apple pies are available year-round at some of our orchards.

Ellijay’s wine country continues to grow, with seven vineyards and tasting rooms and a brewery offering breathtaking views, live music, and food trucks. Sit back and enjoy local wine and craft beer while listening to local musicians.

Hiking is a favorite activity for many who visit Ellijay. From a short hike along the shores of Carters Lake, to the Benton MacKaye or Appalachian Trail, there are dozens of hiking opportunities available for all skill levels. Make sure you take a hike to one of our many

waterfalls in the area. Also take advantage of the trout fishing opportunities in our cool mountain streams. There are several guide services that will make sure you catch “the big one.” If tranquil waters are more your style, take advantage of Carters Lake with its 62 miles of uninterrupted shoreline. Largemouth bass, striped bass, catfish and bream are plentiful in this lake.

Being the Mountain Bike Capital of Georgia, Ellijay offers more than 100 miles of trails with skill levels from beginner to black diamond. Local mountain bike services will gladly provide shuttle service and rental gear, making sure you have a safe and memorable ride.
