Locate It: Trenton

Hang gliding is particularly popular here. With Lookout Mountain Flight Park nearby, the winds and terrain are ideal for this sport. The park also offers paragliding, and staff teach safety and how-tos for first timers.
Caves are probably the main attractions for visitors to Trenton and Dade County. While most caves are on private property, several state-owned caves in the area allow exploration. Check out Ellison’s Cave in the Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area; Sitton’s Cave in Cloudland Canyon State Park; and Howard’s Waterfall Cave Preserve.
For anglers, Lookout Lake near Trenton has everything from bluegill and carp to bass and trout. Catfish are also plentiful here. Cloudland Canyon State Park also offers excellent fishing, as well as Getter Lake.

Golfers will find a welcoming space at the Trenton Golf Club. While the course is challenging, the beauty of the mountain backdrop will make your day on the links special.
The Lookout Mountain Parkway is a 93-mile highway that runs through Dade County. Named by Reader’s Digest as one of America’s Scenic Drives, the parkway takes you from Alabama into Georgia and on into Tennessee. Cloudland Canyon State Park is along the route.
