In far northeast Georgia, Habersham County is hugged by ancient mountains promising all the outdoor adventures a visitor could want.

On a hot summer day, head to the Cornelia Splash Pad for some free, cool fun. It is at 102 Grant Place off Clarkesville Street at the Historic Depot and Big Red Apple.

Adjacent to the nearby Lake Russell Campground, the 100-acre Lake Russell is easy to access, has a grass beach area, boat ramp, pavilion, and is near the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. There are numerous hiking and biking trails, and fishing, boating, kayaking, and paddle boarding opportunities. Trolling motor and non-motorized boating only allowed on Lake Russell.
