The Folkston Funnel is a double track that serves as the main artery for railroad traffic into and out of Florida. Visitors can see trains passing on their way to and from Jacksonville, Florida, in the south, and a split north of town where trains go west to Waycross, Georgia, and north to Savannah.

Originally known for romantic honeymoon cabins, the resort has quickly become a popular destination for group retreats, corporate events, weddings, and receptions. Activities include horseback riding, outdoor pool, volleyball courts and walking trails.

Groups of 10 or more can book a cabin at Fortson 4-H Center and enjoy access to the property’s trails and fishing lake. Reservations for large groups or corporate functions of up to 174 people are also available and include meals and access to the center’s 77 acres and amenities. Fox Mountain Camp and Artist Retreat is a private, primitive campground and artist space just minutes from the Toccoa River. This secluded 18-acre property is surrounded by National Forest. We have women-only, as well as mixed sex camp areas. Female campers should feel free to bring their male companions. Our focus is to provide a safe, welcoming space for women to enjoy the mountains.

The G. Cecil Pruett Community Center Family YMCA is a full-service facility with wellness center, indoor pool, outdoor family leisure pools, gymnasium, game room, indoor walking track, playground, and group exercise classes. Guest passes available. YMCA Away Pass accepted.

This park features a museum with aircraft, armored vehicles, uniforms, weapons, medals and other items from the Revolutionary War through the Gulf War; an 18-hole golf course; and 8,700-acre Lake Blackshear.
